Meet the 2025 Mentors

Simran Choudhary - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

Hello! My name is Simi and I’m currently wrapping up my first year at AZCOM. I am originally San Jose, and I moved out of California for the first time last July to come to Midwestern! I graduated with a degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from UCSB before moving back to the Bay Area to work at a community health center for four years before I started medical school. In my free time, I like to find new restaurants, swim (when it isn't too hot), and try out new dog parks with my dog Oni. I look forward to the memories we will make together this summer!

Quynhanh Dam - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

Hello! My name is QuynhAnh (pronounced Quinn-Ann) and I’m a first-year medical student at â¹û77¸£Àû. Born and raised in Sacramento, California – this is my first time living out of state! I completed my undergraduate degree in Global Disease Biology at University of California, Davis. After graduation, I worked a variety of jobs ranging from scribing in the ER to working for the California Department of Justice, and even as a substitute teacher for all K-12 grades. In my free time, I like to weightlift or try new work out classes like reformer Pilates, spin, hot/aerial yoga. I also enjoy a solid food/coffee crawl in the city or spend my mornings at farmers markets adopting new plants. Excited to meet you all this upcoming summer!

Kate Donaghey - Student Dentist, Class of 2028

Hi everyone!!! My name is Kate Donaghey, and I am a first-year dental student here at Midwestern! Though I was born in Arizona, I grew up in Wausau, WI. I moved back to Arizona in 2020 to attend college at Arizona State University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. During my undergrad, I was co-president of a club called Science Detectives, which was dedicated to teaching science to children with fun experiments. I’ve always had a passion for healthcare, science, and art, which ultimately lead me to choose a career in dentistry, and I LOVE it! I am especially interested in specializing in orthodontics. In my free time, I love playing pickleball, knitting, and Pilates. I am so excited to meet you all, and to guide you through this incredible program. My biggest piece of advice is to keep an open mind and most importantly—have fun!

Kate Donaghey.

Noah Hoang - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

My name is Noah Hoang and I am finishing up my first year of medical school at Midwestern. I was born and raised in Southern California where I went to University of California, San Diego with majors in human biology and public health. Prior to starting medical school, I worked as a medical assistant at a neurology clinic, obtained my Master of Public Health (MPH) from University of California, Davis, and worked as a public health consultant for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). I love to cook making new recipes (please feel free share some recipes with me) and be active at the gym or playing soccer, tennis, and pickleball. I am excited to be a mentor this summer and ready to make some great memories with you all!

Rachel Morris - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Morris, and I am a first year medical student in AZCOM. I grew up here in Phoenix, in Chandler, and I have been in Arizona my whole life. I went to undergrad at the University of Arizona and studied Public Health and Anthropology. I have experience in many different fields including education, public health programming, grief support, and pharmacy. I ultimately chose medicine because it combines all of these skills that I love. In my free time I love to read, cook, swim, and hang out with my friends. A fun fact about me is that I have 3 pet turtles! One that lives with me (Goliath the red eared slider), and two that live with my parents (Harry the red eared slider and Greg the tortoise). I am so excited to meet you all this summer!

Rachel Morris.

Nicole Nam - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

I graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a major in psychology. Prior to medical school, I moved back to southern California and worked as an ER scribe. In my free time, I enjoy doing pilates, going to cafes, cooking, and traveling. I am so excited to be a mentor for this program, and I look forward to meeting all of you this summer!

Cristina Navarrette - Student Optometrist, Class of 2028

Hi everyone! My name is Cristina Navarrette and I have just finished my first year of Optometry School! I grew up in La Mirada, California and completed my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton. I always knew that I wanted to work in healthcare, but I had quite the journey trying to figure out in what field specifically! After volunteering for Lions Vision Club California and working in a Primary Care/Dry Eye Optometry Clinic as a scribe and technician, I felt confident in my decision to pursue optometry. In my free time, I love to read, take spin classes, play with my dogs, go to the movies, and try new food spots! The advice I would give someone beginning their journey is to always ask questions, try to form connections with your classmates and professors, and say yes to as many opportunities as you can that come your way. You never know who you will meet or what interests you until you try it!

Cristina Navarrette.

Angela Oreshkova - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

Hey! My name is Angela Oreshkova, and I am a first-year osteopathic medical student at â¹û77¸£Àû. I was born in raised in Phoenix, Arizona and I absolutely love it here. I am passionate about nutrition and fitness and its impact on our bodies and mental health. I am unsure what type of physician I want to become but some of my top choices include Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a specialization in Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Radiology. In my free time I love to hike, try out new foods, lift weights at the gym, and spend time with all my friends that I have met at Midwestern. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Francesca Querol - Student Doctor, Class of 2028

Hi! My name is Francesca and I’m finishing up my first year as a medical student in AZCOM. Prior to starting at â¹û77¸£Àû, I enjoyed working in the ER as a scribe and volunteering in underserved areas across LA. These experiences were very formative in shaping my appreciation for serving vulnerable populations and encountering people from all walks of life, which I hope to continue throughout the entirety of my medical career. In my free time, I love to nap or tune into baseball games or try new, cute places to eat with my friends. Fun fact I am the eldest of 4 kids and I also have a dog named Kya back home who I miss 24/7. Super excited to meet you all!
